Sharing a message for our Neighbor 2 Neighbor community…
We are so grateful for the outpouring of generosity we see every day at Neighbor 2 Neighbor. Your support is what allows us to serve our community and provide for those in need.
However, we need to address a recurring issue that is hurting our ability to operate: unauthorized dumping.
Because we are a volunteer-run “free store” with limited space, we cannot accept mattresses, furniture, tables, or other large items at this location. For larger items please contact Dawn at (715) 651-1560 to make arrangements. Small household items, clothes, toys, and other small items are to be dropped off during our designated hours (Monday and Thursday 11 am – 3pm and Saturday 10am – 1pm).
Why this is a problem:
The Weather: Since we aren’t back on-site until days later and rain can be in the forecast, items become soaked, heavy, and impossible to move or reuse.
The Cost: Our volunteers—who work hard to keep this space running—will now have to personally handle the removal and pay out-of-pocket disposal fees to get rid of it.
The Impact: What someone likely intended as a kind donation has instead become a financial burden and a massive clean-up chore for our limited volunteer team.
Moving Forward
Please understand that our space is limited. If dumping continues, we will be forced to install security cameras and coordinate with local authorities to issue fines for illegal dumping. We truly do not want to go down that road—we want to keep our focus on helping our neighbors.
Thank you for your understanding and for helping us keep Neighbor 2 Neighbor a safe, clean, and helpful resource for everyone.
