IMPORTANT BIRCHWOOD CHAMBER MEETING

What is going to happen to the Chamber??

AGENDA:  Determine the future of the Birchwood Chamber.  Because of low interest and too few people willing to be on the Chamber Board the current Chamber Board had no option but to vote to dissolve the Chamber.   According to the  State of Wisconsin Chamber organization, the membership must now vote on a plan to dissolve the Birchwood Chamber.  There will be a “Plan to Dissolve” presented at this important meeting.

OTHER OPTIONS:  If the membership votes to keep the Chamber instead of dissolving, we must have a minimum of 5 people to serve on the Birchwood Chamber Board.  Currently we have 3 people who will stay on the board and 2 more people have come forward who would serve on the board, which would satisfy the minimum required number of board members.

Michelle from Washburn County Tourism plans to be at this meeting.  Washburn County may be able to help us to keep the Birchwood Chamber in a suspended state vs. dissolving it entirely.  Once dissolution papers are filed for the Birchwood Chamber, and the facebook page, website and email accounts are deleted, it would be a lot of work for someone to get it all back in the future.
