Stout’s Island Lodge – Hear author Ron Arthur tell of the history of “The Island of Happy Days”, the small island on Red Cedar Lake developed by lumber baron Frank Stout in the early 1900s as his family’s private retreat and how it came back to life in this century.
September 5, 2019 – 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Birchwood School Commons
Listen to an encore presentation – with new pictures – by local historian, Arlyn Colby, on the two historic railroads that went through Birchwood. Learn how the Soo and Omaha railroads played into the history of the Birchwood area.
