Update Meeting – 2018 Big Chetac, Birch, and Little Birch Lakes Management Plan

The Big Chetac and Birch Lakes Association (BCABLA), WDNR, and consultant Dave Blumer (LEAPS – Chetek, WI) are sponsoring a meeting to review progress of the local Stakeholders Committee toward a 2018 Lake Management Plan for the Chetac Chain of Lakes (Chetac, Birch and Little Birch). The meeting will be held SATURDAY, OCTOBER 28 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. in the BIRCHWOOD SCHOOL COMMONS. The public is invited. Previous meetings have provided valuable contributions to the emerging plan.

Input and discussion are encouraged about goals and objectives being built into the 2018 management plan around topics including the fishery, water quality; lake uses; invasive species; monitoring and management strategy; communication and collaboration; and, implementation of the Plan. A draft document of the goals, objectives, and management actions is available on the BCABLA webpage and other on-line resources, or through a phone or email request at 715-642-0635 or dblumerleaps@gmail.com.

All who have interest in contributing to the lake management plan and overall health of the Birchwood/Edgewater area lakes are encouraged to attend this meeting.
